Post-earthquake works removed accumulated internal alterations to reveal the original timber and stone structure.
The building was repaired and strengthened, with new elements introduced to support contemporary use.
Interventions are deliberately restrained, set within the existing fabric without competing with it.
A reduced internal palette of painted surfaces highlights the original ornament and spatial depth.
New external elements are introduced in a contemporary material language, positioned in careful relation to the historic fabric.
The building is returned to public use with improved accessibility and renewed programme.
