The existing proportions are retained and used to organise the new layout.
The original living room extends into a new dining space. The ceiling steps down into the kitchen, reflecting the split section of the existing house.
The kitchen is repositioned as the centre of the plan, arranged to allow views in multiple directions and direct connection to the garden.
The former kitchen becomes a secondary workspace.
To the rear, a series of mesh frames define the boundary, supporting planting and enclosing external elements, including rainwater storage.
