A house on a steep slope, reconfigured across three levels with an extension to the rear and conversion of the lower garage space.

The section is reorganised vertically, creating an inverted arrangement between entrance and garden.

The lower level is introduced into the former garage, forming two bedrooms, a bathroom, and utility space. Existing garage openings are replaced with new windows, bringing light into the lower rooms.

Above, the main living level is extended into the garden with a new kitchen and dining space under a sedum roof and large rooflight.

The garden is cut back to the house, establishing a direct relationship between internal levels and external ground.

A secondary external stair links the garden directly to the lower level.

A combined garden table and lightwell provides daylight and escape to the bedroom below while sitting within the external landscape.

A long, low garden structure defines the edge of the roof and prevents access, removing the need for guarding while maintaining privacy.
