A Victorian townhouse reworked with a side return extension.

The ground floor is opened between front and rear rooms, forming a continuous plan. A sliding partition allows separation when required.

The extension occupies the side return, formed in board-marked concrete and read as a structural insertion.

Roof glazing runs along its length, bringing light into the depth of the plan.

The kitchen is set on a raised level, establishing a separation from the dining space below.

A cantilevered planter projects from the structure at the garden edge.

The former cellar is reconfigured as utility space, avoiding further excavation.

Material contrast is direct — concrete structure, minimal glazing, and timber elements within.
